How Do Change Heater Coil On A 1987 Chevy Pickup
My heater cadre was leaking when I hooked information technology support last calendar week and so I replaced it over the weekend.
I followed the suggestions from this forum AND the repair manual and information technology went pretty piece of cake.
Dropped the inner fender for access to the bottom fasteners.
Propped up the hood and undid the rider side hood swivel (later on marking its location kickoff). Used a block of wood to protect the fender, the hood and swivel slide frontwards plenty to permit for easy removal of the heater box.

If y'all ever wondered why leaves wing out of the ducts when yous turn on the heat/defrost, its because there'south xl years of leaves in the heater box.
I only ran into 1 snag, the get-go cadre I got from Advance Auto was aluminum and did non fit, the ends of the core were not the aforementioned shape as the original so the bracket didn't fit.
Took it back and the parts girl called another store about 10 miles abroad and asked them to await upwardly the aforementioned part number and they had one that was contumely and correct. The guy at that store said he figures information technology had been on the shelf for 10 years or more than.
I used plumbers putty to seal the box back to the firewall and I lubed the cables while I was at it (information technology was raining and I was outside then no pics of putting it back together)...at present it will run you out of the truck.
Hither is another thread with more than pics: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...advert.php?t=69812
